Terms and Conditions
These are the terms that apply when you book a private walking tour with Things to do CPH. Please read them before you book: by checking the box at checkout, you confirm you've read and accepted them.
1. Who we are
Things to do CPH is a private walking-tour service operated by Felipe, an independent local guide based in Copenhagen, Denmark. In these terms, "we", "us" and "our" mean Things to do CPH / Felipe as the provider of the tour, and "you" means the person who makes the booking on behalf of their group.
You can reach us at fbmalinarich@gmail.com or by WhatsApp at +45 91 69 08 50.
2. What these terms cover
These terms and conditions apply to every booking made through thingstodocph.com for a private walking tour of Copenhagen. By ticking the acceptance box during checkout, or by completing and paying for a booking, you confirm that you have read, understood and agree to these terms, including our cancellation policy described in section 6.
If anything here is inconsistent with what we've agreed with you directly in writing (for example, over WhatsApp for a custom group booking), that direct agreement takes priority for that booking.
3. The tour service
We offer private, guided walking tours of Copenhagen for a single group, never mixed with other travelers. Tours are led personally by Felipe and are available in English, Spanish and Italian.
- Duration: 3 hours (Essential Tour), 4 hours (Complete Tour) or an extended day of up to 9 hours, as selected at the time of booking.
- Group size: from 1 up to 90 people. The price is calculated per group, not per person, based on the number of people and the duration you choose, and is shown in full before you pay.
- Meeting point: by default, Gammel Torv or Kongens Nytorv, in central Copenhagen. If a different meeting point suits you better, tell us and we'll do our best to accommodate it. The exact meeting point is confirmed by WhatsApp once your booking is complete.
- Route and stops: the itinerary is adapted to your interests and pace within the time booked; specific landmarks, museums or venues mentioned on this website illustrate a typical route and may vary depending on weather, opening hours, ongoing works or your own preferences.
- What's included: the guide's time and the walking tour itself. Museum, attraction or public-transport tickets, food, drinks and gratuities are not included unless we've explicitly agreed otherwise with you in writing.
Tours are physically active: they involve walking outdoors, at a comfortable but sustained pace, for the full booked duration, over cobblestones, stairs and uneven surfaces typical of a historic city centre, and in whatever weather Copenhagen has that day.
4. Bookings and prices
Bookings are made directly on thingstodocph.com through our online booking widget: choose a date, time, number of people and duration, and you'll see the final group price before paying. Prices are shown and charged in euros (EUR) and include VAT where applicable.
You can book up to 12 hours before the start of the tour, subject to availability. We recommend booking as far in advance as possible, especially for dates in high season or for groups larger than 10 people.
We reserve the right to correct obvious pricing or availability errors on the website (for example, a technical glitch that shows a price of €0), even after a booking has apparently gone through; in that case we'll contact you before charging anything further, or cancel and fully refund the affected booking.
5. Payment
Payment is made in full, online, by card, at the time of booking, through our payment processor. Your booking is only confirmed once payment has been successfully processed; you'll receive a confirmation email with your invoice immediately afterwards.
We use industry-standard encryption for online payments and never see or store your full card details ourselves.
6. Cancellations, changes and no-shows on your side
We know plans change, so our cancellation policy is deliberately simple:
- Cancellation and refund: if you cancel at least 48 hours before the start time of your tour, we refund the amount paid minus the payment gateway's processing fee, which is not refundable to us.
- No refund if you cancel less than 48 hours before the start time, or if you simply don't show up at the meeting point.
You can cancel at any time using the link in your confirmation email, or by writing to us directly. Refunds are issued to the original payment method and can take a few business days to appear in your account, depending on your bank.
If you'd like to change the date, time, duration or group size of an existing booking instead of cancelling it, contact us as soon as possible: wherever we can, we'll make the change at no extra cost, subject to availability, but we can't guarantee every request can be accommodated. An unconfirmed change request does not cancel or modify your original booking.
If you or a member of your group arrives more than 15 minutes late at the agreed meeting point without letting us know, we may need to shorten the tour to fit the remaining time or, if we can no longer reasonably deliver it, treat it as a no-show under this section.
7. If we need to change or cancel a tour
Occasionally we may need to change or cancel a confirmed tour: because of extreme weather that would make it unsafe or unreasonable to walk outdoors for hours, illness, a family emergency, or another situation beyond our reasonable control (force majeure). If that happens, we'll let you know as soon as we can and offer you, at your choice, a full refund or a free rescheduling to a new date. This is the only compensation we owe you in these situations.
8. Your right of withdrawal
If you're a consumer in the EU/EEA, contracts you enter into online normally come with a 14-day "cooling-off" right of withdrawal. However, EU law (Directive 2011/83/EU, art. 16(l), implemented in Denmark through the Consumer Contracts Act) excludes this right for services related to leisure activities where the contract provides for a specific date or period of performance, which is exactly what a booking for a walking tour on a chosen date and time is.
This means the standard 14-day withdrawal right does not apply to your tour booking; instead, the cancellation policy in section 6 above governs your ability to cancel and be refunded. We think it's fair, and we're disclosing it clearly here, as the law requires, before you book.
9. Conduct, fitness and safety
By booking, you confirm that you and everyone in your group are reasonably fit to walk outdoors for the full duration of the tour, and that you'll let us know in advance about any mobility issues, medical conditions or other needs we should plan around. We're happy to adapt the route where we can, but only if we know beforehand.
Anyone under 18 must be accompanied by a responsible adult for the whole tour. We may end a tour early, without a refund for the remaining time, if a participant's behaviour puts the safety of the group, the guide or other people at risk, or is seriously disrespectful towards the guide or the public.
You're responsible for your own belongings, travel documents, and any personal, health or travel insurance you consider appropriate for your trip. We strongly recommend valid travel insurance.
10. Liability
We take reasonable care in planning and delivering every tour, but a walking tour takes place in a real, uncontrolled city environment. To the extent permitted by law, we're not liable for:
- Injury, loss or damage caused by ordinary hazards of walking outdoors (uneven pavements, weather, traffic, crowds), except where caused by our negligence;
- Acts, omissions, opening hours, admission policies or safety at museums, restaurants, shops or other third-party venues we visit or recommend, which we don't control;
- Indirect or consequential losses, such as missed onward travel connections.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited under Danish or EU consumer-protection law. Subject to that, our total liability to you in connection with a booking is limited to the amount you paid for that tour.
11. Content and intellectual property
The text, photos, itineraries and recommendations published on thingstodocph.com are original work, written and tested first-hand by Felipe, and are protected by copyright. You're welcome to link to our pages or share short quotes with clear credit and a link back to thingstodocph.com; reproducing substantial parts of the site elsewhere, or presenting our content as your own, isn't permitted without our written consent.
12. Complaints and dispute resolution
If anything about your tour or booking wasn't right, please tell us directly first, at fbmalinarich@gmail.com: as a small, one-guide business, we can usually sort things out quickly and personally, and we'd rather do that than have you deal with a faceless process.
If we can't resolve a complaint between us and you're a consumer in the EU, you can also use the European Commission's Online Dispute Resolution platform at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr to submit your complaint.
13. Governing law and jurisdiction
These terms are governed by Danish law. Any dispute that can't be resolved as described above will be subject to the jurisdiction of the Danish courts. If you're a consumer resident in another EU/EEA country, this doesn't take away the protection given to you by the mandatory consumer-protection laws of your own country of residence.
14. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time, for example to reflect a change in our services or in the law. The version that applies to your booking is the one published on this page on the day you book. If we make a material change, we'll update the "last updated" date at the top of this page.
